At Craighead Farm, we are professional woodland contractors.
We specialise in providing services for the smaller woodland owner where large scale mechanised operations are not cost effective.
We can thin, fell, deal with windblow and extract timber at a far more reasonable cost than bringing a large contractor and all their machinery. In addition, because we can use horses, the impact on the environment is much less and there is none of the mess normally associated with mechanised forwarding.
Using our horses enables us to selectively thin rather than rack thinning - ensuring that your quality trees remain.
We are fully qualified with NPTC chainsaw tickets and fully insured for all types of woodland management work.
Using our Logosol mobile sawmill, we can also offer an on-site milling service for removal and processing of specifically targeted timber.
We also provide training in the use of Logosol milling equipment and other mobile sawmill systems.
