B+E Training
This is a course for those who need to sit the DSA trailer test.
Depending on your experience and ability it may take between one and 3 days to reach the required standard before taking the test.
We give you an assessment on arrival and from this tell you how long it is likely to take you to be ready to take the test. 2 days is normal with 3 for more nervous drivers. If you have trailer handling experience already it may only take one day to brush up to test standard.

If you sat your driving test after 1 Jan 1997, you no longer get the entitlement to tow a trailer over 750kg. In order to do this you must sit a further test for B+E entitlement.
If you use your trailer for any commercial purpose it is probable you will also need to fit a tachograph and must comply with driver’s hours rules.

Horsebox Towing
If you need your training or licence to tow a horsebox for your horse or pony, we provide towing training using our Ifor Williams horse box and 4x4. As well as the normal B+E towing training for trailers you will receive advice and instruction on setting the breeching and breast bars correctly, loading and unloading animals (including difficult ones) and the special consideration needed for driving with live animals including animal welfare in transit.
The course reflects the latest advice and recommendations given by the Pony Club, BHS and other horse, pony and animal welfare organisations on safe towing.
